Now through March 10, 2016 there is a 50 percent transfer bonus from Membership Rewards to Virgin America. American Express Membership Rewards points normally transfer at a 2:1 ratio with a minimum of 200 points transferred, so 200 Membership Rewards points normally gets you only 100 Virgin America Elevate points. With this transfer bonus, 200 points will translate into 150 Elevate points, but it this a good deal?
For a limited time, you can earn double points with Virgin America! The Double Dip Your Points promotion will earn you double points through February 29, 2016! Flights must be not only booked, but completed by February 29.
Quite a few airlines already fly to Hawaii, and this morning Virgin America joined that list, starting their nonstop service from San Francisco to Honolulu. More options means more competition for fares and service, so this is welcome news!
This post makes reference to an offer that has since expired.
Virgin America is having a one day sale from $38 one way! You can view the sale HERE. Book today and travel between November 3, 2015 and March 5, 2016. Not all fares are that low, but there are some good deals to be found if you travel on Virgin America.
Now through December 31, 2015 if you transfer 80,000 American Express Membership Rewards points to Virgin America (Elevate), you will get Gold status, their highest level status, through February 2017. Normally, the transfer ratio is 2:1, but between September 8 and October 8 you will receive a 25% bonus for transfers to Virgin Elevate meaning that you only need 80,000 Membership Rewards points to get the required 50,000 Elevate points.
