New Barclaycard JetBlue Cards Are Live!

The new Barclaycard JetBlue cards are now open for applications!  Back in February, I posted about the JetBlue transition from American Express to Barclaycard, and as of today, you can apply for one of these new cards.  There are actually 4 cards, 3 of which are new.  The fourth card is what American Express customers will receive and is not open to new applications at this time.

Should You Apply?

If you fly on JetBlue regularly, the JetBlue Plus or JetBlue Business card may be a good choice for you.  In addition to earning 6x points per $1 on JetBlue purchases, the free checked bag for you and up to 3 travel companions could easily cover the $99 annual fee.  The account anniversary bonus is also a nice perk.

You can expect points to be worth about 1.4-1.7 cents each, and JetBlue uses a revenue based award system which makes it difficult to get extra value out of points.  If you are flying on JetBlue regularly though, that means 8.4-10.2 cents per $1 spent on airfare!  If you do not fly JetBlue regularly, these cards are not really for you.
